Gardens by the Bay - Flower Dome
I can't let GX1's effort goes unknown, here am I blogging. Have to admit that I'm not a good owner and takes pictures way below it's full force.
After the Garden Festival, it's the opening of Gardens by the Bay. And for being at the festival I get to redeem tickets for GTB at discount, but only to one dome.
Dome?
See the 2 seashells newly sat by the river bay? Each of them with different environment and the entrance fee does not go together. *shrugs* locals got used to it.
Amongst all the prominent new landmarks of Singapore.
It used to be a park and still it is, but a more urbanized one now. It used to be just a full green patch with narrow concrete paths that pass through the whole park, with statues of ancient heroes all about. Interesting in my opinion.
And a vast land that enable kite flying, those were the Kampong days.
But now it is, mostly covered in concrete and man-made structures, gigantic and artistic, towering over the past.
I have been there twice, first with mum utilizing the tickets from GF12, YM gave hers to me. And a 2nd time withMax5 Max3, Liyan have got lobang by the CC which cost only $10 with transport and goodie bag.
(One thing I seriously do not understand, if the CC is able to get us in at $10 for everything, transport, Skywalk and the 2 domes, why is it that on 20% discount, I have to pay $14 per pax and only for 1 dome, and $5 for Skywalk. Anyway if you are interested, you can go to those small scale travel agencies to look for deals, way cheaper then you visit as a local resident.)
So the entry will be a combine of the 2 outings, and I'll write on the Flower Dome first.
(Tiring la, to edit so many pictures at one go)
All tickets look the same, be it the Skywalk or the domes, it is the barcode at the back that matters.
The Skywalk by OCBC, 22m above the ground, $5 per visit, there is lift up and down so don't worry.
On it you can see all that is on the bay, everything that is named Marina.
The Marina Bay Sands, Marina Financial Centre, Marina Barrage, the whole Marina Bay.
Being high and mighty, there have to be rules to safe keep everyone, heels are seriously not the best idea because the whole path is netted.
Then to the exhibition dome, I went to the Flower Dome with Mum, it is bigger and have more flowers compare to the Cloud Forest, that, we shall see.
One of the highlights, the Baobab trees. And imagine the size and height the dome contains.
Endless, endless, it took me 2.5 hours on the first visit.
The center piece, it will change seasonally. It was orangy and pumpkins at the start of fall.
Understood that cactus are not misinterpreted
I will not flood flower pictures, it is also hard to get good ones on my skill.
Huge hibiscuses, that is the more accessible interesting one. With it beside, it proves how small my face is. The truth that can't be denied.
Black Lily? Rare colour for flowers, but I likes.
And look how interesting the flowers are that the boy went into the bushes! Cutes.
OK, I go edit for Cloud Forest now. And hopefully things will flow with Legoland, River Taxi, River Walk and food predatory experience.
And some staycations maybe?
